28 May 2006 - Why Nowdollar and Compactsurf are in my Top 10? Part 1
This 3-part review is rather special and long as it touches a few interesting distinctives which I found in these 2 surf programs. It provides a clue to what we could be looking for as gamers. Let me begin with Nowdollar.

Nowdollar was started in mid Feb, by Lance, the owner and admin. He made his presence under the nick Redsun and here are some of his first revealing posts in AC Cafe:
AC Cafe posts
This is the first post I have made about the 12DP and StormPay issue. I have been reluctant to do so because my company has been in the process of launching our own AutoSurf. I am amazed at how many people on these forums still think that companies in the AutoSurf Industry are investment companies. That friends is why the problems of the past two weeks have come up. For starters lets get one think out of the way. Legitimate AutoSurf companies are not investment sites. I have read several Terms and Conditions from these companies and not one states they accept investments. It is clear by reading post here that members of the Legitimate companies still think they are investors. It simply is not true. These AutoSurf companies go out of their way to make sure members are informed of their business model. My Media group has been working for some time now on putting together a AutoSurf company that will help the average person or small business professional advertise their web sites as well as make money. We are in no way shape or form a Investment company. Our terms and conditions stat that to the letter. So if you are convinced you have invested your money in a AutoSurf program you did not read the terms of your membership.
To break this down for you I am going to explain the AutoSurf Industry to you in very simple terms.
When you join a AutoSurf company you have two options. Option #1: you are a free or no paying member of that company and you are only entitled to advertise a limited number of sites for a specific time. Yes you still get hits on your site from paying members from all over the globe. But you do not get to earn any income for viewing web sites your self. Why? Because to earn with that company you must purchase a membership. So Option #2: Purchase a membership based on the amount of money you afford to spend at that time. As a paying member the AutoSurf company then pays you to help them achieve their goal of delivering web hits to their members free or paid. In some cases you can list more than one web site to the rotation and earn credits for you own sites by viewing others.
Where the confusion comes in is when member think their membership fees are investments. They are not. You have purchased a membership to have the rights and privileges that come with that membership. In most cases the biggest is being able to be paid. So what is the difference you may ask? In an investment company you invest money and expect a return on your investment without having to do anything. When you buy a membership with your money, you have bought the right to earn money by surfing web sites. Buying a membership in a AutoSurf company is no different then buying a tube of tooth past at Wal-Mart or buying a classified add in our local news paper. You have just purchased a service. When you go to a restaurant do you consider it an investment when you purchase their food? No. When you buy items at BestBuy or Wal-Mart do you consider the money spent an investment? No. Then why would you think that the service you purchase from a AutoSurf company would be any different? I think you get my point.
So now to the Ponzi or Pyramid scheme issue. Storm pay and several news agencies consider the AutoSurf Industry one of these schemes by saying they rely on new memberships and reoccurring fees. Yes the AutoSurf Industry does rely on new members and reoccurring fees, but are they alone? No. Mr. Newsman what would happen if your news agency or network didn’t get any new companies to advertise their commercials with you. And what would happen if your existing companies did not renew their advertising contracts. It would not be long until you are out of business. So are T.V. stations Ponzi or Pyramid schemes? I mean by their definition they rely on new advertising companies and reoccurring fees to operate. What about the banking industry in America. They rely on new customers opening accounts and getting loans. They also rely on existing customers staying with them. Hmmm… according to StormPays views our entire Banking system is a Ponzi scheme.
I am not here to promote my AutoSurf company, I have not even given you the name. I just wanted everyone to know that there is a company entering the AutoSurf Industry that has a staff attorney and is willing and able to defend this Industry at all cost. We will not let this Industry go quietly into the night. We are structured to endure the storm and ensure that not just our Future Members but every member of a legitimate AutoSurf company will have this wonderful opportunity for years to come.
Thank you for your time.

The membership fees are one source of paying the surf earning to members. But there are other ways to generate revenue in the AutoSurf Industry. I will list a few here but keep in mind this is not all of them.
#1 If a person runs a business in any industry they have a vested interest in that industry. I also own a Aviation charter company located in Dallas TX. Therefore I have a vested interest in the Aviation Industry. My AutoSurf company is no different I have a vested Interest (and this is true with almost all AutoSurf Owners) I will invest in other companies. Look at it like this, If my company is paying 5% and I put membership fees in a company paying 8% then I am making a 3% profit perday. The vested interest principal applies to all industries world wide, just pick one and research it out. I do the some with my private investment company.
#2 Owners of AutoSurf companies, if they are smart will find investments outside of the Industry. ie. .real estate, construction, wholesale etc… The possibilities are endless if a savvy business person just looks.
Now keep in mind these are just a few options open to the business owner. The outside investments by no means are limited to just these two options.
Thank you for your honest response.

Nowdollar Forum Post
We are excited to announce we have been in business for two full months. We owe our success to you, our outstanding Members. Thank you all for supporting NowDollar.com.
Here is a quick run down of what we have achieved over the past two months.
When we first started accepting Members, our Max deposit amount was $1500. We did this to ensure solid and steady growth. We have since moved the Limit to $3500. Starting tonight at Midnight we will now have a max upgrade level of $5000 and no limit to how many upgrades you can have running at one time.
We started with the Pay Processors of EMO, AlertPay, Ebullion and Egold. We all know what the deal is with EMO. We are still paying back our EMO Members everyday. We had to drop Ebullion because of lack of use, and AlertPay because of issues we could not overcome. We have not had any problems with Egold and continue to use them. Egold in my personal opinion is the most solid pay processor available to us at this point.
We Made our first pay outs on March 7, 2006 and have now paid out 44 days straight.
Our reserve fund has almost doubled from what we started with. Our Staff Places the NowDollar funds in several Places. The most solid of which is long term investments. These investments will start paying us back in June. At this point we will no longer have to rely on our reserve fund to pay pending cash outs. That day is Fast approaching.
We have never had any server issues. We use a dedicated server from the hosting company Verio/NTT. One of the most trusted names in the Hosting Industry. Our server is monitored 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Our Scripts and programming is handled by professional career programmers.
We have a Long Term Business Model in place for the next 3 years. At that point we will reevaluate this company and make changes if necessary.
If you have any suggestions that would make this program better please send them to admin@nowdollar.com. We are listening.
We have several promotions coming this summer that you will not want to miss.
Thank you all again for your support.

To date, Nowdollar got only near 1300 members, a paltry record compared to say, Compactsurfing with near 20,000. However, I have been with Nowdollar and its record is impressive. Prompt and fast payments so far, and all within 24-hours timeframe. It has been paying for 65 days.
Ok, here are some reasons why I look upon this surf impressively.
1. The admin, Lance. He has an aviation background in real life biz with some experience in forex trading. One of the things that strike me is his communication and responsiveness. I have friends who have communicated with him and all of them testify to his promptness in replies and being upfront. He has striked me as a business savvy person.
2. The site has no hidden whois or shows any attempt to fake. This is thoroughly verified. Also there is dedicated server and dedicated hosting which have been verified.
3. Payment by Nowdollar is very fast and prompt, and it is the fastest I have known, all less than 24 hours. The yield is a monthly ROI of 40% - somewhat lower but it is good for longevity.
4. Its growth is slow and steady, and so far it only has near 1300 members. By now, its reputation is going to be fast spreading and in MMG, the number of page views are still only less than 5000 due to lack of admin's presence. This is rather low and is pretty indicative of the lack of cheerleading. As I scan around the blogs and forums and comparing it to a month ago, I begin to notice some rise of cheerleading. This is good news for me as a gamer.
The above 4 aspects are cardinal principles are what a gamer looks for in a site and it is a matter of time more will know about it. Taking at face value what Lance has to say, he is using a reserve fund to pay and by June, the funds from long term investments are coming back. As this site is still new and unknown, and with an ambitious admin, I am comfortable. I am looking to see the other business streams coming online for Nowdollar. This is to make good Lance's promise of lasting 3 years which no AS site has done so far. The most I think about was Studio Traffic which lasted 2 years but it was a low-yielding program. For the longer term, I will assess as to his program's viability to last and this will be dependent on other biz streams which I hope to see this program reveal more in the months ahead.
This play is still on in my view :-) Strictly speaking, a game and I reckon it can still last for a while. Look out for my Part 2 review on Compactsurfing and Part 3 review on criteria to look for surfs for gamers!
